The pachira (pachira aquatica) is a tropical plant whose flowers give edible nuts. Although native to South America, its symbolism is strongest in Asia. According to the Chinese tradition, its palmate leaves resemble hands that catch the good fortune of which the twisted trunk becomes the guardian.

Also popular in Japan and Taiwan, it is often used for ornamental purposes and makes a great housewarming gift by guaranteeing happiness and prosperity to the new home.

The fruits of the pachira are those of the work of art:
To the one who cherishes it, it will exalt his artistic passion and his interior.
To the one who invests, it guarantees a safe, even prosperous investment.

Career

Fascinated by painting and drawing from an early age, Jean-Christophe BOURCIER was promised an artistic future. His mistress had told his mother: « Jean-Christophe will be a Picasso ». The character, however, presents a course that is atypical to say the least. After taking courses at the fine arts of Poitiers and Reims, he embarked on the creation of companies. He will thus be successively: canine educator, safety trainer, karting instructor, then diving instructor in Tahiti.

The Painting

In the field of painting, he uses the pastel technique, a material which allows him to obtain very diversified results and to express all the nuances of his sensitivity. And, he specifies, contrary to certain received ideas, this medium presents a very great stability over time.

A passion

In 1999, his dream of sunshine led him to French Polynesia, a country he would not leave for 14 years. It is on a lost atoll in the middle of the Pacific that he will return to his first love: painting. He then devoted himself to it full-time, drawing inspiration in particular from the locals and their traditions. It is also during this period that he will begin art photography.

His creations reflect his passions: beautiful automobiles, sports, animals, and of course Polynesia.

The Photography

Beyond shooting, his real passion concerns above all post-production. What drives it? Pure creation. Thus, on his screen, it often happens that a small square of color meets another. Sometimes they like each other, marry under the surname « Pixel », form families of shades and produce complex compositions. The completion of a single image can take, in some cases, several weeks.
